Pre-start Preparation and Inspection
1. Depending on the operating conditions, pumps in this series are lubricated using either high-quality calcium-based grease or No. 10 machine oil. For grease-lubricated pumps, grease should be added to the bearing housing periodically; for oil-lubricated pumps, the oil level should be topped up if it is insufficient.
2. Check that the liquid level inside the pump casing is above the top edge of the impeller. If the level is too low, add liquid directly into the pump body through the filling port on the casing. Do not start or operate the pump with insufficient liquid, as this prevents normal operation and can easily damage the mechanical seal.
3. Check the rotating parts of the pump for any signs of binding or impact.
4. Check the pump mounting feet and all connecting nuts for looseness.
5. Check the coaxiality and parallelism between the pump shaft and the motor shaft.
6. Check the inlet piping for air leaks; any leaks must be remedied.
7. Open the valve on the suction line and partially open (do not fully open) the discharge control valve.
